Today Neil had the chance to have Mary Ann on his chest for one hour. The whole day she was breathing on her own without CPAP. The role of CPAP as primary support for very premature infants with respiratory distress from birth is not fully defined. But she is doing fine on her own.
Actually Neil thought she was doing very well –especially when she peed on the nurses and everywhere else.
In the evening when I was there, they had already given her food and cared her. I was very disappointed with that. But she had been very cranky so they had to feed her. She was moving around – very lively. That must bee a good sign.
